Magic became so saturated by their use that it precipitated out of solution in a cataclysmic event known as The Rend

The Rend created solidified magic crystals and bathed the continent in deadly radiation and the Lux Solis Occasum were considered completely wiped out

A Few Years Ago:

Magical radiation levels have decreased allowing human exploration

The Reclaimers, an occult faction focused on recovering Occasum artifacts, have started expeditions back into into the Blister

Shimmerfort was founded in the ruins of an Occasum town

Rannulfus Volusus is the Reaver of Reclaimer’s Redoubt, the town fort

A Few Months Ago:

The party was contracted by Rannulfus to come to Shimmerfort

Wild technicolor lights have been seen illuminating the skies above the Forest at night

A small squad was sent up Lucid Trickle to investigate, but hasn't been seen since
